SleepSave — Privacy Policy

How we collect, use, and protect your information

Effective: July 7, 2026 Last Updated: October 19, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Sleep-Save (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects your information when you use the Sleep-Save mobile application (“App”) on iPhone and Apple Watch, including the free Snore Detection feature and the paid Smart Home Integration features available under the Individual and Household plans.

This policy covers the mobile app. Data collected through sleep-save.com is described in the Website data section.

This Privacy Policy is incorporated into and forms part of our Terms of Service. By using the App, you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

Audio stays on your device

Snore detection is processed locally in real time. Raw audio is never transmitted to our servers or stored.

We don’t sell your data

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share data only as needed to operate the App, as described below.

You stay in control

You can revoke microphone access, manage device permissions, and delete all your data at any time.

1Information We Collect

The information we collect depends on your plan and which features you enable. We aim to collect only what is necessary to provide the App’s functionality.

Category What it includes Purpose
Subscription status Whether you have an active subscription and which plan you’re on, as confirmed by Apple. We never receive your Apple ID, email address, or any other account credentials. Determine which features your subscription plan includes.
Audio patterns Acoustic patterns consistent with snoring, analyzed on-device. Detect snoring to trigger pause and automation actions.
Sleep & sensor data Apple Watch motion and heart-rate signals (paid plans, via HealthKit). Improve sleep and wake detection accuracy.
Device control data Which devices you authorize and the commands/states issued during a session. Power off and restore your designated smart home devices.
Usage & analytics Optional, anonymized usage data, collected only if you turn on Analytics. See Section 6 (Analytics) for full details. Monitor and improve App performance and reliability.
We do not knowingly collect more data than is needed to deliver the features you have enabled. Smart home and sensor data are only collected on paid plans where those features are active.

2Audio Data and Microphone

With your permission, the App accesses the microphone on your iPhone and/or Apple Watch to listen for audio patterns consistent with snoring during an active Sleep-Save session.

  • Local processing. Audio is processed locally on your device in real time. Raw audio is never transmitted to our servers.
  • No recordings. We do not store, retain, or share recordings of your audio or ambient sounds, and no audio files are saved on your device by the App.
  • No speech analysis. The App does not listen for, record, transcribe, or analyze speech, conversations, or any audio content beyond acoustic patterns associated with snoring.
  • No snore-detection data collected. We do not collect or transmit the times or details of your snore detections — that information never leaves your device. If you turn on optional Analytics, only anonymized app-usage data is collected, as described in Section 6 (Analytics); audio, sleep, and health data are never part of it.
Your consent & control By starting a session you consent to microphone access solely for snore detection. You may revoke microphone access at any time in your device’s Settings app; doing so will disable core App functionality.

3Apple Watch and Health Sensors

On paid plans, if you use Sleep-Save on Apple Watch, the App may use motion and heart-rate sensors to supplement sleep and wake detection. Access to this data is subject to Apple’s HealthKit terms and your device permissions.

Microphone data from Apple Watch is processed locally on the watch and is not transmitted externally. We use sensor signals only to improve detection accuracy and do not use HealthKit data for advertising.

4Smart Home and Device Data

On paid plans, the App interacts with smart home devices you authorize — such as your television, smart lights and switches, smart plugs, and thermostat — to power them off when you fall asleep and, with Wake-Up Restore enabled, return them to their pre-sleep state.

To do this, we process:

  • The list of devices you designate for Sleep-Save to control.
  • Device state recorded at the start of a session (power status, brightness, thermostat setting, and playback position where supported).
  • The commands issued during automation and Wake-Up Restore.
You control which devices are connected You are responsible for choosing which devices Sleep-Save may control and for granting permissions within your smart home platform. Please review the safety guidance in our Terms of Service before enabling automated device control.

5How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide core functionality — snore detection, auto-pause, smart home control, and Wake-Up Restore.
  • Determine which features your subscription plan includes.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and improve the performance and reliability of the App.
  • Communicate with you about product updates and support requests.
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.

We do not use your audio content or HealthKit data for advertising or sell it to third parties.

6Analytics

Sleep-Save includes optional analytics, powered by Google Analytics for Firebase, to help us understand how the App is used and improve its performance and reliability.

Off by default Analytics is turned off unless you enable it yourself in Settings › Privacy › Analytics. Nothing described in this section is collected or sent unless you turn this on.

What we collect if you enable Analytics

  • Device & app info. Your iPhone model, iOS version, and Sleep-Save app version.
  • Smart device types. The types of smart devices you’ve linked (for example, “one Apple TV, two smart bulbs”) — never the names you’ve given your devices.
  • App-usage events. Basic, anonymized events describing how you use the App.
  • Subscription plan. Whether you’re on the free tier, or the Individual or Household plan.
  • Installation ID. An anonymous identifier for your installation of the App. It is not tied to your name, email, or any other identity.
  • Approximate location. Derived from your IP address — typically the city and country.

What we never send

  • Audio, sleep, or health data of any kind.
  • Any data from Apple HealthKit.
  • Anything about your thermostat.
  • The names you’ve given your smart home devices.
  • Any advertising identifier. The App contains no advertising-ID code and shows no ads.
Retention and advertising features Analytics data is retained for up to 14 months. We have switched off Google’s optional advertising features for our analytics property.

7How We Share Information

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share information only in the limited circumstances below:

  • Apple (billing). Paid subscriptions are processed through the Apple App Store. Apple handles your payment; we do not collect or store your payment details.
  • Smart home platforms. To control your devices, the App sends commands through platforms you connect (e.g., Apple HomeKit, Apple TV, Roku, Amazon Fire TV, LG Smart TV, Philips Hue, and TP-Link Tapo), subject to their own privacy policies.
  • Service providers. Vendors who help us operate the App (e.g., analytics or hosting) under obligations to protect your data.
  • Analytics provider (Google). If you turn on optional Analytics, the anonymized usage data described in Section 6 (Analytics) is shared with Google Analytics for Firebase to help us understand how the App is used.
  • Legal & safety. When required by law, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of users, the public, or Sleep-Save.
  • Business transfers. In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this Privacy Policy.

8Third-Party Platforms

Sleep-Save integrates with third-party smart home platforms and ecosystems. Your use of those platforms remains subject to their own terms and privacy policies. Sleep-Save is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or responsible for any third-party platform or device manufacturer, and we do not control how they process your data.

9Data Retention

Sleep-Save has no user accounts, so there is no account data for us to retain. Snore detection, sleep tracking, and smart home control all happen on your device — this data stays there for as long as you keep it, under your control at any time via Settings › Privacy › Delete All Data.

If you turn on optional Analytics, the anonymized usage data it generates is retained by our analytics provider on the schedule described in Section 6 (Analytics). Because we never collect audio, sleep, or health data, there is none of that kind of data for us to retain.

10Data Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect your information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your location, you may have rights regarding your personal information, including the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict its use. You can exercise the following controls at any time:

  • Microphone access. Revoke it in your device’s Settings app.
  • Device permissions. Change which smart home devices Sleep-Save can control within the App settings.
  • Health data. Manage HealthKit permissions in your device settings.
  • Analytics. Turn optional Analytics on or off at any time in Settings › Privacy › Analytics.
  • Delete all data. Use Settings › Privacy › Delete All Data in the App to permanently delete your data from your device at any time.
  • Requests. Contact us to exercise applicable privacy rights.

12Children’s Privacy

Sleep-Save is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information through the App, please contact us immediately so we can delete it.

13International Users

If you access the App from outside the United States, your information may be processed and stored in the United States or other countries where we or our service providers operate. By using the App, you understand your information may be transferred to locations with different data protection laws than your jurisdiction.

If you are located in the European Union or European Economic Area and choose to turn on optional Analytics, your anonymized analytics data may be transferred to and processed in the United States by our analytics provider, Google. Google provides appropriate safeguards for these transfers, such as the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses, as required under EU data protection law.

14Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last Updated” date above and, where required by law, provide notice in the App. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.

15Website Data

This section applies to visitors of sleep-save.com. If you use the “Email me these numbers” form on our calculator, we collect the email address you enter and the figures you calculated, and we use them only to send you those figures.

Our pages also load a few third-party resources (a TrustedSite security badge, Google Fonts, and images served by GoDaddy), which may receive your IP address and browser details. The calculator form uses no marketing list and no third-party trackers.

We do not sell your personal information. You can ask us to delete your email address at any time by writing to support@sleep-save.com.
